After some delay, the crew is back at the Grout Cottage today. Scaffolding in full effect, they are working on changing the last gable end on the front of the house. Lots of people are stopping to look and people are slowing down as they drive by but the best is yet to come—the transformation and painting of the exterior.
Turns out that the old girl had six layers of shingles on with a layer of metal over it and it still leaked. I’ve seen two or three maybe but never six. Renovation is all about peeling back the layers to uncover something beautiful.
